Peace of mind property management has been the worse and incompetent company I have worked with as tenant and human being. When we first looked at their property, 226 Belmont st, my friend and I were Illuminated, nice renovated house, good price for a two bedroom and a questionable neighborhood but decided we can overlook and make it work for us. Move in day, took about 30 minutes to get a hold of anyone in the office to get the keys to the house, but that was the least of our problems. Before getting the keys of course the gates surrounding the house were completely busted and we had previously discussed with the property manager if that would be fixed before move in. It wasn t. When we went inside, the A.C was broken and in a high temperature state like Texas that s a big no no. We carried on in denial that this place would still be our home. Big mistake. In the process of moving stuff, random questionable individuals kept coming up to our mail box and checking if there was anything in there. We were advised by a neighbor that the property had been broken into several times by vagrants and homeless and that some randomly check the mailboxes for stimulus checks and mail. The man said he had been trying to keep the place safe, but failed to do so as it was not his job to do so. This traumatized us. How could we live in a place like this where we have no A.C and have random vagrants breaking into our house. This was all expressed to our property manager Vera Gonzales and taken lightly by her. Her solution was that they would have cops patrol the area, have additional cameras installed and a contractor come by to fix the A.C. Which never happened and we refused to move in. We went back and forth trying to fix this and got to the point of breaking our lease. Vera not once apologized or showed any form of sympathy, she simply brushed off our problems and acted defensive. She even posted a letter of abandonment on the property on the third day even though we had paid rent on time followed by all the applied fees. We ve been dealing with this since the beginning of this month and with no help from the property manager, just empty promises to shut us up.
