I had a terrible experience at Rose Medical. Pre-op was dirty and a fluid bag was left in the sink. I questioned whether it was even cleaned. As a breast cancer survivor, I can't have blood pressure or blood draw on the left side because that is where my lymphnodes were taken out and I struggled with lymphadema for 6 months. Nurse couldn't find a "Limb alert" band so she put a random orange band on my arm. Even with the vein finder (even though I told them to go in my hand and where because Ive had previous surgeries), the first nurse blew a vein up on my forearm. The second nurse ended up going in the hand vein but had to fish (I have very good veins). In the meantime, they found a "limb alert" bracelet which lets everyone know NOTto do any blood pressure, blood draw etc. on that side so they put that bracelet on. Now I had 3 bracelets on the medical band with your information, the random orange/red and which they should have taken off and the limb alert. I woke up out of surgery with a blood pressure cuff on the limb alert side - when I got upset, they just blew it off and said "it's just so hard to pay attention with all the bracelets on you (3) - unacceptable. My oncologist was very unhappy to hear about that. Then when I went to my regular room, it wasn't prepared. There were 2 to 3 items hoses etc. that weren't in my room so the nurse just blew it off and said "I'll just steal it from the other room", I had a fluid bag on that should have been emptied in the middle of the night. The nurse in the morning mentioned "oh I didn't realize you had one of these on, I need to empty it", she did empty my catheder (spelling), they wrote the wrong room number on my wipe off board. I was in 165, they wrote 166. Even down to my stupid phone in the room was missing. Obviously some small things but I won't have surgery at Rose Medical again. I also took the time to call in to the nurse supervisor and spoke with Shane. He did call me back and thanked me for the feedback. I also sent an email to Mary Busse (Director of Pre-op, PACU and Surgical Readiness about 5 days ago but haven't heard anything back. I had a very negative experience and would not recommend Rose Medical. I was very disappointed. I had a knee replacement revision on the right leg and a mensicus repair on the left.
