Luck of the draw on where your room is. First room (238) smelled of mildew and visible mold surrounding the air conditioner. Requested a room change and received 229. Still smelled of mildew but no visible mold until I looked up in the morning and noticed the ceiling was covered in it. The mattress was very uncomfortable to the point where you could feel the individual springs. The room overall was dated and dark. The air conditioner was loud and had to be run all night to keep the room cool. I wish my experience was a fluke but my other co-workers all had the same complaints as me. I tried to bring this to managements attention before writing this in hopes that they plan on renovating old rooms but no response.

My one colleague received a room on the 10th floor in the right wing, pictures looked like a completely different hotel. Very nice spacious room, not sure how he lucked out.

In short, for the price make sure you're getting a better room. Otherwise just play it safe and book somewhere else.

Before writing this I tried to bring these issues to managements attention in hopes that they plan on renovating old rooms but no response. My company will no longer be recommending the Riverside Hotel as accommodations in Fort Lauderdale based on our experiences.
