I called to make an appointment for an oil change....

I called to make an appointment for an oil change. I was told not to make an appointment but to drive up anytime and it would take half an hour. I went in and was informed it would be an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours before they could get my car in (not including service time). I was told it would be best to go home and come back the next morning. I went in the next morning, had an oil change and decided to get a tire rotation after it was suggested I could use one, and was out of there in an hour and 45 minutes. Everyone was friendly and as far as I know the services were performed properly, but it was disappointing to be told over the phone what I should expect and then have to go out of my way to come back the next day. I would rather have made an appointment over the phone like I planned which would have avoided making an extra trip to the dealer.
