My birth experience this time compared to last tim...

My birth experience this time compared to last time (also at Rose) was vastly different. I ended up having to deliver in triage and did not receive my requested epidural. I don t know if the nurses could have done anything different to speed things along but it unfortunately was kind of a traumatic experience for me. Mostly in part due to the pain.

However, everyone came together when it became evident I wasn t going to make it to Labor and delivery, and they helped me deliver my baby safely. I just wish it had been in the environment I d imagined and experienced last time.

Recovery was on a different floor due to the construction, but I still received the same level of care and attentiveness I received last time when I was in the Postpartum ward. I saw a sea of faces during my time there but I especially remember Nurse Alex who was with me from delivery through recovery in postpartum and Dr. Kate Fellerman (? I hope I got your name right!) who was the oncall physician since my regular OB was not able to make it.

Thank you to everyone who got me through this when nothing was going to plan. I don t know that I could have done it without you.
