Brian Black Review of Dee Why RSL

Spent last ANZAC day here and thought it was great. Like a mini village all within one building. Ate initially at the Bistro. Cheap, home cooking style meals like Sunday roasts on offer starting at around $10. Despite being pretty packed for the usual ANZAC celebrations the ambience was fairly relaxed and everyone was in good spirits. The RSL in general was very clean and tidy. Flame Restaurant is a bit more upmarket dining than the Bistro, with prices to match. Still good value, but hard to beat the Bistro prices. Had the vertical kebab, which I wouldn't recommend, but the rack of ribs look awesome (had some serious food envy!).
The staff were pretty good, although we did get a stroppy waitress at Flame who was not happy bringing us a bottle of table water and when we asked for a glass she brought one which had been used as an ash tray. Apart from this, faultless.
