After moving areas I was told I was in arrears, yet nobody over the phone can tell me any specific dates that I am being charged for. I was given the number of a man in the 'Recovery Team' called Adam who I had been communicating with via email, when I call the number I can never get through to him and have to explain my case all over again, each time I phone for an update.

While disputing this debt, I was requested to emall them photos of my benefit statements, but because my new statements only showed my new address they told me this was not enough. After explaining to them, multiple times, that it would be impossible for me to get a new statement that shows a previous address, they have now requested I provide them with a council tax statement of my new address. Even though I could have happily provided them with old letters, which covered the dates they requested and the address they were inquiring about.
This is becoming tiring & distressing. I struggle on a daily basis anyway, without extra stress like this being caused when I know I am not liable to pay any more council tax than I already have.
The communication with this council is an absolute joke, and I am now considering taking my case to court with legal representation due to the incompetence and ignorance from Staffordshire Council in my case.
