Spent a weekend at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry...

Spent a weekend at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and couldn't have loved it more! We had four rooms with 6 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 5 to 11 years old. This resort is luxury all the way! From the easy check-in process to the extremely attentive and courteous staff to the elegant rooms and amazing Tidal Cove Waterpark, we realized why people come from around the world to be here. We stayed in the Orchid Hotel overlooking the beautiful grounds and Tidal Cove...what a superb hotel! The beds were just right, top-notch linens and more than enough pillows . But we didn't spend that much time in the room...Tidal Cove was calling! OMG!! Walking into Tidal Cove, with that enormous waterslide tower and multiple choices of water slides; the lazy river and the FlowRider...the kids were in heaven! So interesting....usually as parents and grandparents we hover over our kids in the water, even tho' they all swim like fish! But here at Tidal Cove, there were SO MANY lifeguards and staff members watching out for everyone , and especially the kids, that we stopped being 'heliicopters' and started relaxing. We rented a cabana, which was a great idea. It had a big TV, loads of cabinets to hold personal items , comfy couch and chairs, refrigerator....what more could one want? AND...we had the cabana right next to the FlowRider....which was perfect because we could watch the kids testing their surfing skills throughout the day. We signed up two of the kids for a private lesson on the FlowRider and they were so happy...and after a few splashdowns filled with laughter, they actually learned how to stand up on the surfboard...no small feat! We kept ordering food from Free Style, and the kids said the chicken fingers and pizza were really delicious. With 12 people, we sampled lots of food items and drinks from Free Style and the Surf House Bar and Restaurant ...turkey burgers, salads, gelato...we have 'thumbs up' for everything...and the pricing was reasonable.

Dinner with everyone was at Corsair, and we chose a table overlooking the golf course...naturally, the kids wanted to run out on the golf course, so after their dinners, they had a great time running around while the adults had a chance to just enjoy conversation.

Checkout was easy and quick, and the cars were brought up quickly by courteous valet parkers. Can't wait to return!!
