This hotel is old and you basically "get what you pay for". The front desk check in was great, they were very friendly and very helpful. The standard Ocean front room was clean. The plug for the coffee pot keep blowing the circuit and I could not make coffee, thank goodness they have a Starbucks in the lobby. I was a little weary of the plug however. My contact with housekeeping was a real joy. I felt like asking for towels was such a nuisance to them and I was a bother. The service in the restaurant was terrible. My wife, son and I waited for an hour to get a salad and so did everyone in there. The restaurant was in total Chaos. You would think if they know the hotel is fully booked they would be prepared. They were not prepared and severely understaffed. I sat there and watched other people get drink orders while I had been sitting there for 15min. with nothing. Finally a very nice waitress noticed my less than happy look and took our drink orders. She was a one of the nicest people I met at this hotel and I let her know it.
I do keep in mind this is Myrtle Beach it has the same tourist wary attitude as many high tourist volume areas.
To be fair I must say also met many nice and helpful people, but not the majority.
My biggest complaint is really a mistake on my part. I am 100% sure I left a LG bluetooth, Apple USB charging cord, and a small pocket knife in the room located inside a drawer. I called housekeeping today and they said it was not there and that no one had checked into the room. So, I hope I have learned my lesson. Things left behind.........
