I love NPR, but I got to put you on blast! Now that is out of the way...we booked a tour last week and were super excited to possibly see a "Tiny Desk" concert. We arrived at NPR about 30 minutes before the tour to ensure that parking was not an issue. By the way, download the parking app for DC, you will save yourself some headache. We enter the massive doors to the ultimate listening experience, approached security to inquire about where to go, and was informed that there had not been a tour for a little more than a month due to a shooting at a radio station in the country. We were a little perplexed. There had been a confirmation email! I thought that we were good - to-go...only to be let down at the door. I was ready to buy my NPR Nerd shirt in the gift shop, but felt like I had been jilted at the alter because the tour had been canceled and no one let me in on the cruel emotional joke! NPR if you are reading this, and I hope that you are, know that the Parsons family is your biggest fan! Additionally, I feel some type of way now that I did not receive a notice that the tour was canceled...check the "Code Switch". I expect better from our NPR Headquarters! Lastly, we were informed that there is no estimated date for the re-start of the tours. I would truly hate to find out that this is not true.
