William Gill Review of Amelia Island Plantation

Only stayed for a weekend off season. Although it was very busy for mid March they seemed unprepared. Check in was kind of hectic and the valet area disorganized / understaffed. The individual valets were very helpful though and made great recommendations about the island. They need serious help at the omelette station but the servers at breakfast were very nice. Room was average but we were there for the beach anyway. Pool area was kind of like a stock yard and the attendants in that area seemed indifferent at best. The beach was nicer with plenty of chairs and friendly staff. Lots of washed up jellyfish to look out for and not great pickings for shells. Sand was mostly clean and beach was combed. Over all the Omni at Hilton Head is far and away much better on everything. The island does have an awesome grocery store. It's the only Harris Teeter in FL and they have an awesome hot foods bar with a different dinner option every day. The prime rib was very good. Everything is probably different in season as usual. Sunrise is awesome too!
