Thank you to the owner of this wonderful and historic example of thoughtful and inventive architectural design and construction. My spouse and I availed ourselves of the opportunity to revisit Kentuck Knob after our first encounter some 15 years past. We first learned about Wright's last private home commission when visiting nearby Fallingwater while family camping in Ohiopyle State Park.

Having lived in Madison, Wisconsin, my spouse and I were familiar with Frank Lloyd Wright's career and work, as several houses and a Unitarian chapel of his design grace the city, so we looked forward to exploring the famous Fallingwater. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. The docent who led the tour heard our reactions about the feeling or atmosphere of Fallingwater's living spaces and recommended we visit Kentuck Knob.

Having taken the shorter limited tour our first go round, we bought tickets for the more expansive tour and presentation of the entire home. I want to thank the docent, Luann, by name, as she was delightful guide. Your anecdotes and personal connection to the original owners who commissioned the design of their home brings a sense of the fullness of living with and adapting an architectural gem.

The owner has restored and maintains this work of art, and we thank him for his generosity of making his home available that one might momentarily occupy and experience a well thought out, responsive design and the resulting well crafted execution of plan and construction. A gem indeed.
