We brought a stray cat in to the vet because we had heard good things about Matt Mason and because my regular vet is about 45 minutes away from my house. We saw a different vet that works for him. The vet seemed nervous and did not listen with the stethoscope on one side of the cat. When she shaved her belly to see if she was spayed she shaved above the belly button instead of below. We asked to check for ear mites and they said nothing about it. They said wait ten days for quarantine then we will give her a rabies shot and do all the blood test. Which will cost more money for an office visit. I called my regular vet later that day. They said there was no need for quarantine and that they would see her as soon as possible. I took her in to my regular vet and within minutes my vet said she would like to check the cat for hyperthyroidism due to the increased heart rate and prominent thyroid. She also found ear mites. They did a blood test and she does have hyperthyroidism and needed a deep cleaning because of the ear mites. I don't know if it was just an off day for this vet but I was disappointed with the service. I did speak to the owner of blackwater Matt mason about these concerns and he defended his vets actions. Matt Mason was rude to us for having concerns about his practice. It seemed like all they are interested is money.
