A great hotel albeit dated - it has an old world charm about it, from the narrow passages leading to the rooms, to the paintings on the walls and wallpaper used. If old world charm impresses you, look no further especially since this hotel is on the main road. But since this review should be objective, here goes.

The washbasin faucets supply either hot or cold water - since there are two separate faucets and not one mixer. Consequently, there is no way you can mix the water to suit your taste, which in today s day and age, is not acceptable.
The rooms on the front of the hotel tend to be noisy since the traffic noise, however less that may be, is clearly audible inside. Seriously the management should contemplate installing double glazed windows.
The partitions between the rooms are not very insulating to loud noise, so if you have, like we faced, a neighbour who snores loudly or talked/argued loudly, it is clearly audible. You can though ignore creaking floor boards from the rooms above since old buildings will inevitably have this problem.

The food on the other hand is very well prepared and service is excellent. If you are lucky to have an Irish coffee presentation by Jackie, it should be the highlight of your stay there.

All in all, a good hotel.
