This hotel is a monster on the Scarborough beach skyline. It dominates the whole area, and not in a nice way ~ more in a tacky old town Las Vegas sort of a way.

The hotel itself is well dated, and I felt like I was stepping back in time when I walked through the revolving doors into the foyer. Staff were really friendly despite my timing with the hotel full of people coming and going from a function room on the foyer floor.

They directed me to the carpark which is under the building and a bit of a trip to locate the 2 elevators that would take me to my room.

The room itself was on a high floor with a lovely view of the water, but was just as dated and tired looking as the rest of the hotel. With a noisy AC unit and tea and coffee selection that was very unappealing and tasteless, I settled in for the night.

The next morning I tried out the breakfast buffet which was surprisingly good! The restaurant is more modern then the rest of the hotel and the selection of food was great.

I left after my night in the hotel thinking M'eh, not terrible, not great, just Me'h. OK for one night or a business trip, but not really a place of refuge and beauty.
