Visited the estate for lunch.
After the entrance you will be introduced to a ridiculously long driveway, all the way around the lawn in front of the estate, before you are allowed to go up the gravel to park your car. The country house itself looks stately, the rest looks a bit East-German, this could have been better coordinated.
The entrance and the interior is beautiful, beautiful marble floor in the hall and the whole is well maintained (now the exterior). As different as the styles have been applied, they fit together so well.
We can choose (inside) from three rooms for lunch. In these 3 rooms there are exactly 2 tables where you could sit properly to eat a bite, and they are occupied. The rooms consist of low chairs and small tables, perfect for a drink, but really not for lunch.
We ended up having lunch outside on the terrace.
The artisan croquettes (2) with bread are fine, but at 13.50 much too expensive. The salad (a plate with iceberg lettuce, some fried bacon and blue cheese) is not bad in terms of taste, ... but this one is also out of proportion expensive at 13.50.
It has not become clear to us what should make up for the ridiculous prices. The service is slow, very slow even, despite the fact that there are a lot of people walking around (of course they all have to be paid, perhaps that's it).
