Bright Star served my father in assisted living for over two years. What I liked about them is how they have worked with me all throughout. I have talked with Diane, who is the owner, on multiple occasions and she has really listened and worked with me to resolve any issues at hand. She wanted the situation to work for the client and for the caregiver and really showed that she cared. I have been very pleased with her partnership.
When I needed to get a message out to all the caregivers urgently, I texted the office and all caregivers received my message. When I had a question for specific caregivers, I texted the office and received feedback. Bright Star cares about the clients they serve and wants to serve them with respect. They have been able to update care plans as needed, be present in hospitals, discuss the caregiver/client match, and respond when something comes up with a professional and supportive reply.
I would like to highlight Jennifer, a caregiver, who kept my father in a regular routine making his day productive and enjoyable, cleaned him regularly while he was in the hospital, advocated for necessary supplies while he was in the hospital, and interacted with him in such a way overall that his spirits were lifted. I know she gave him lasting good memories and improved his quality of life right up until he transferred into hospice.
I would like to also highlight that I witnessed many other caregivers from Bright Star that came into the hospital during his stay who advocated for his unique needs tuning into details such as breathing changes and swallowing issues or dietary issues. I was so thankful for the iPads the caregivers had that allowed for communication with me and the medical staff before I could be there in person.
My experience with Bright Star was not without some times we needed to navigate and make corrections or changes, but that is the reality of working with people. I wouldn't grade Bright Star down for any of the bumps along the way because as I said in the beginning, they worked with me to get situations on track for the better for my father and for the growth of the caregiver. My being involved in requesting updates and responding to these communications to work with Bright Star was essential because I knew my father best. You cannot partner with a care organization and step back completely. Be involved and it's a win all around! I really liked that Bright Star cares to grow their employees toward having successful experiences with all parties involved.
Thank you for caring for my father!
