When my parents bought a Subaru at Marino's Fine Cars Subaru, they anticipated being part of the Subaru family. But due to their most recent experience with this dealership, we realize that Subaru too, like all other automobile companies, is just big business after a profit with no concern for their customers. What good is "confidence in motion" if we have no confidence in the way we will be treated?

On September 19th, 2017, my parents confidently brought their car into Marino's to be looked at. With only 34,000km on the car, and having just had an alignment done in July, the rear tire was surprisingly worn down to the metal. After dropping the car off, they were surprisingly told to find their own way home - shockingly, no courtesy ride was offered or available!

My parents were called back the next morning to pick up car. When they arrived, they were told that the worn tire was not part of the warranty, and nothing was done, leaving the dangerous tire on for them to drive home with. My parents asked, "why didn't the mechanics at least put on the spare tire?", and were told that it was not their (Subaru's) responsibility. My 70 year old father then had to attempt to put on the spare tire in the parking lot of the dealership, in 30 degree heat, I might add!

I am disgusted by the way my parents were treated, and they are understandably very disappointed. It would have taken nothing for them to be treated fairly: a polite conversation with the warranty situation explained their options clearly outlined, perhaps a slight disount on a new tire and installation for free, and at the very least, a hand installing the spare time, for the mean time. But nothing like this was done. And so, instead of feeling confident with Subaru, their opinion of the car company is greatly tarnished.

This is not the way to treat customers, but rather embarrassing. Subaru Canada needs to take action in the regard, and speak to the dealership, and make this situation right. Otherwise, there is obviously nothing to be said for Subaru and their concern for the customers!
