Husband was treated here prior to needing to be transferred for higher level of care. I know the hospital doesn t have the best reputation, but the ER physician was competent & thorough in his assessment & the ER staff & radiology staff that came in the room were respectful. Why I am giving two stars is because absolutely none of the tests or results were photocopied, faxed or burned into CD for the receiving hospital. We were told early there would be a delay of EMT ground transportation for at least 3-4 hours after the decision to transfer was made (no emergent transportation needed). We understood the reason for the wait & had no issue with that, but there was PLENTY of time for Tennova ED staff to get laboratory & radiology tests & preliminary/pending/final reports copied to send with EMS to the receiving hospital & it was not done. So, almost every test was duplicated upon arrival to the other hospital. I will have to discuss with Tennova s patient care advocate (if they have one), as that kind of practice places patients in danger & causes unnecessary duplication of testing and increased costs. Imagine if they did that to everyone how much unnecessary excess healthcare spending goes on! Insurance will not pay for duplication of tests!
