So, my girlfriend and I stayed at the InterContine...

So, my girlfriend and I stayed at the InterContinental Vienna June 15th and 16th and we were both extremely impressed. I booked our room through the Fine Hotels & Resorts program with American Express which promises a free upgrade on arrival if available. What I didn't expect was the bump to the junior suite with a corner view overlooking the courtyard behind the hotel, which was super nice and put a positive spin to everything that came after. The staff made checking in and checking out a breeze.

On our first night, we had drinks and a light dinner at the bar. The drinks were rather expensive in my opinion, but I suppose that's normal for a higher end bar. I recommend at least stopping to try the apple strudel, as that was incredible.

Being able to go just across the street and get on the train was great. It made doing all the touristy stuff we wanted to do super easy.

As for breakfast, it was pretty standard for a hotel of this quality/price point. I might have just been there at a busy time, but I was surprised to see it so crowded at 8:30-9:00. There was no shortage of food however, and they were attentive with keeping my coffee full, so on the whole I liked the breakfast.

I'd like to go back and get the same/a similar room in the winter, as it looks like they turn the courtyard behind the hotel into an ice skating rink. While I was there, it was a beach in the city themed thing, which I didn't check out.
