I bought a pair of Terra-Flex shoes based upon the extremely positive reviews that I read on the Xero shoes website. I ordered them, and used the Quad-Pay option in order to spread out the payments over a month.

My experience with the Xero was poor enough to prompt me to write this review. When I tried the shoes on, they were extremely narrow across the arch, and had a very poorly designed tread, which appeared to be inviting the breakdown that had been reported by numerous purchasers. I concluded that the shoes were not a great fit for me, and returned them the day after receiving them, which per their policy, was charged to me. I had no particular objection to the return policy, knowing that it is still a relatively new company.

I did not think that it would be 20+ days before I got my refund. I also found a with their Customer Service Department extremely cumbersome and uninformative. I have now received $51 on a $99 purchase, which is hardly the refund policy described to me when the original sale was consummated.

I think that there are many alternatives in the minimalist space, and I would definitely not recommend this company neither for their products, nor for their approach to customer service. I recognize that there can be a cultish atmosphere for some products, and believe that the reviews on their website reflect that If you do by the shoes, be sure to try Amazon to protect yourself. The shoes are not for everybody. I have a very high arch and wide forefoot, and would definitely not recommend the shoes for anyone with a similar configuration.
