Ended up having to stay long-term at a BW hotel in Marble Falls. I ve almost always stayed at a BW when I needed a hotel throughout the years. Each of those hotels received 4 or 5 stars. However, the marble falls BW is privately owned and it is a terrible representation of the brand. Although I m currently a diamond member , I am getting rid of my BW info and never staying again unless it s the only option left.
While the housekeeping staff were super friendly, they all looked so overworked/exhausted. Most of them only spoke Spanish, which was fine. Maintenance guy (Joe?) was a hard worker and Maryann? at the front desk was really friendly.
The complimentary breakfast is ok, but definitely better at other locations. Rather than replacing/safely storing some of the food, they rely on the turnover of people (We had all gotten very sick from the waffles and OJ before I watched and noticed this).
The rooms were tiny and the beds were extremely old. It seems there was always someone smoking or drinking right outside the door. We had to keep our doors and windows shut and when we turned on the AC, all we could smell were the smokers outside. They denied our request for a room change.
The cheap microwave worked - it either undercooked or burned your food. Our room had a broken iron machine and table, half of the outlets didn t work, a very loud AC, and omg the mini fridge. It made noises all the time, didn t work properly (food went bad, didn t get credit for it), and took a long time to get it swapped out (had to tell front desk several times). The shower head came undone regularly from showers, causing it to leak often (at least this was an easy fix, we just retightened it).
Although we were at a hotel, we reused our towels, saved water, and so forth. One day, we had all slept way past housekeeping hours and one of us brought the dirty towels downstairs so we could get a couple new ones. The clean towels and housekeeping supplies were just behind the door. However, the manager got very angry.
I think they kept the pool cooled. The hot tub was ok (Note: must turn on 1 hr before going in otherwise it will not be warm). However, one day after going to the hot tub, our feet felt funny. We mentioned to the front desk it felt like there was broken glass particles in the hot tub as our feet stung badly after using it twice. They said they would take care of it but other guests mentioned about it too during breakfast. We stopped using it.
Did NOT receive the 140k BW points due to a discounted rate which was not a discount. It would ve been a lot cheaper to stay at some of the other hotels. Even though they said it was the busy season, other hotel sites had the same rate.
Terrible customer service: Contacted BW corporate via phone calls, emails & FB message. Either no response or the same sorry! please call our #. I could continue to go on but all in all, it was an extremely expensive and disappointing experience.
