There is a lot of construction but the zoo is great and has a nice layout for walking. The staff is very friendly and the docents love to talk about the animals. The big cats are especially great to see. If you have kids and it is a nice day this is an excellent way to spend time in Portland and the accessibility by MAX makes it even more enjoyable.
