SCARY... I received a random call from a patient in one of their rooms, crying and distraught. He said he was laying in his own urine, he s been asking for help and no one would help him. He seems a little disoriented and under extreme distress. He wanted to seek the help of an attorney. He gave me his name and room number. I asked if there was a family member he could call and he said no. I called the hospital back to verify the information not sure it if was a hoax. I was ready to call the police so I needed to verify what was going on. I called the hospital and their was a person by his name in that room number he gave me. I proceeded to talk to his nurse who said she would check on him now. She said he s just upset because he can t care himself and we ll change him now, ???? Ok....WHW? I m following up on him later but I m very concerned about how these patients who are alone are being treated. I wish he had a family member that was there to help him.
