I am a local that decided to stay downtown for a function closeby. We chose the Francis Marion and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The architecture is great. The rooms are pretty tight and the bathrooms are tiny, but nicely appointed. The location is one of the best in town. Would highly recommend!
