I very rarely write reviews. To start with, I've had a good experience with Dr. Butrus. I recently received word that they will no longer take my insurance, so I'm currently looking for another eye doctor. The issue I've had is with his office staff. Last year, they billed my old insurance for an order of contacts even though I gave them my card at the beginning of the visit. After going back and forth over the course of the week, I gave up and just ate the $200. This year, I've been trying for two months to get a copy of my glasses prescription. I went in person one day when I was working at home in the neighborhood, but because Dr. Butrus was not in the office that day I could not receive a copy. They asked for a fax number, but I do not have one, so they said they would mail it. I never received it. I called again a few weeks later and went through the same process. Since I work in Arlington, I can't just stop by during their office hours. It again was again never mailed. I'm working from home again today and planned to stop by in the afternoon, but figured I'd call ahead so it would be ready. I was told it would take three days for him to write out a simple prescription. Then I was told it could be ready tomorrow, but that doesn't help because I'll be in Arlington. Again I was asked about fax number and they said they don't mail it. I give up. I would have to find a new eye doctor even if they did take my insurance.
