We had an terrific experience shopping at Furnitureland, primarily because of our interior decorator s, Olga Smith s, expertise in design and ability to quickly tune in to our tastes. She made excellent suggestions to maximize our options while ensuring that the various pieces we selected coordinated or complemented in style.

To optimize the time you have to shop I strongly encourage you to send advance pictures of any existing furniture that you plan to continue to use in the room(s) you are decorating as well as pictures of furniture styles or room looks that you may have seen online or in magazines. Additionally the showroom is huge. We used 3 full days to shop for 3 rooms (great room, dining room and master bedroom). We could have easily used a 4th day to select end tables, lamps, linens, an additional rug and other accessories. Perhaps others move or decide more quickly but realistically, to enjoy the experience, I d advise setting aside more time than you anticipate rather than having to rush decisions or not finish shopping, particularly if you are coming from a distance. Although Olga is very accommodating, she is quite booked and may not be able to schedule an additional day to assist you.

We are please with Olga s continued communication with us. She has remained in contact clarifying minor aspects of our selections that we may not have initially considered and providing additional information regarding measurements and delivery.

She is a consummate professional. Perhaps her best hidden talent is to mediate differences between spouses so that each one s taste is represented in the selections. That is a skill one doesn t learn when training as an interior decorator.
