From the start of my ordeal which began with emergency surgery on my 38th bday in Oct 2015 (Thank you Dr. Chan for saving my life & to the whole surgical crew for singing happy bday to me while stapling me shut. Sorry I missed it, lol! ) Sutter has always been a comfortable, clean, welcoming place and Ive ALWAYS come in through the emergency room since every problem Ive had has been an emergency. I havent always been the best patient- in fact quite difficult at times, but the staff have been unbelievably kind and knowledgeable and patient with me. All my visitors marvel at the facilities which include a gift shop you could browse for hours on end, a cafe with some of the best coffee ever & even a wide selection of vending machines with healthy stuff available 24-7. Friends are surprised at the professional & attentive care I receive here even after being very surly and disagreeable with my nurses. I still feel loved when I least deserve it, theyre amazing and I shouldve let them know it. I dont know where I'd be without this place. Having been a Kaiser member most of my life until recently (though I was never ill my entire life nor had to admitted to a hospital until that birthday) & having accompanied a friend to a different Sacramento NON-Sutter emergency room in Jan 2017; I don't EVER want to find out what my life would be like without Sutter...if I even HAD a life at all! I hate hospitals, but when I HAVE to go I honestly LOVE this place.
