We stayed in Royal Service from Nov 17 to Nov 24th...

We stayed in Royal Service from Nov 17 to Nov 24th/18. We used our $400 room credit to upgrade from our Junior Suite to a Swim up. We had to pay a bit extra to make up the difference (?) A bit strange as I have read reviews that seem to suggest that people were upgraded to Royal service for free based on a few customer service issues. Either way, our last experience was with the Royalton Hicacous Diamond Service, & Paradius Princesa Del Mar out shone them in every area except in the meals. I am a very picky eater, don't eat meat or much variety. My husband had no such problem, enjoyed the various meats & seafood. I had been so looking forward to my favourite fruit, guava, & for some reason there was none available. Our amazing butler Val, actually bought me some (refused to let me pay him) & left them in our room! That was the nicest thing a staff member did for me. We loved the resort, it was simply beautiful, well kept, all the staff were so welcoming, kind & happy to assist. I loved the swim up feature that allowed we to swim laps within steps from our room, & I quite enjoyed the quiet while doing so @ 4:30 am. I went for a Deep Tissue Massage & am so glad I did, just a warning it is very intense, & can be painful. The beach was beautiful, quiet enough for me to manage a long nap, the water an incredible blue. I highly recommend this resort, & really believe the Royal Service is well worth the extra $'s. Don't forget to ask about using the room upgrade credit, it has to be used at check in, if not it is lost.
