Every time we come to LA, its straight to Philippes for one of the best sandwiches in the country. It doesn't matter if I get the French dip, the pork or the lamb, it is fantastic. I get it either double dipped or soaked because the au jus is unbelievable. The hot mustard just takes it over the top. Get whatever side you want as they are all good. The only other place that is an absolute must for me is Primanti brothers out of Pittsburgh. These two are in a class by themselves.
