The best part of our entire evening was our driver...

The best part of our entire evening was our driver, blonde young man who was actually a food runner-hilarious. The very nice suburban was filthy on the inside. You could spend some of that money that you make on the overpriced meals and vacuum the car you pick up guests in. I would be mortified if I sent that vehicle to pick up some high class business person in from out of town. Our server was fantastic, she knew the menu and specials inside and out. She was quite friendly. The cocktail was to die for - hibiscus mojito of some sort. The prawn coctail was to die for and had lovely presentation. The main part of the meal, the prized possession, the winner of them all fell completely short. I had the halibut of the day and it was WAY too salty, ruined it. I could not have dairy so I was excited that the mash potatoes were goat cheese but no, they were regular old taters with some goat cheese thrown in so couldn't do that. I was fine with roasted potatoes until I bit into one and it was as dry as a desert. The asparagus and heirloom carrots were delicious. The bread was gross. The fruit compote that the chef almost didn't give me but the server went back and got it, made the fish so that I could choke it down. I should have asked for a new piece but thought it would get better - it didn't. The other meal was the seafood trio in which the 2 items were great, the salmon was not so great. After the first bite we were not once asked how our meal was. It was almost as if they knew it was bad so didn't want to ask. At a fancy seafood restaurant I expect every meal to be out of this world especially for the prices! Not to mention the living wage tax? You have got to be kidding me! Run a shorter staff or incorporate it into the menu prices, to pass that on is ridiculous and maybe you should not have voted in a higher minimum wage and make everyone else suffer. The fish floating around in the floor and the live music were great, beautiful view, good mood lighting. No military discount which at the cost of what our ticket was, the discount would have been minuscule and we would have gladly given that to someone to vacuum out the vehicle you drive guests in.
