Daniel Dugan Review of Nagasaki Prefectural Governmen...

The museum has some excellent displays with limited English language & audio support. Staff said that there was recent reorganizing that may have left the audio a bit out of sync. There were gaps in history in the displays and in the audio guide. For instance, Dejima Island just appeared as something mentioned rather than explained. The Meiji era was rather rushed. Of course, like all Japanese museums, the period of 1900 to 1945 is completely ignored. Overall, I really needed to know a little about Nagasaki history before going, and I could have skipped the museum and missed only a little.
