John Andesilich Review of Porter Davis R.E. Brokerage

I would highly recommend running away from this agent. In my experience with him, we rented a house from him that was listed on Zillow sight unseen. I had numerous conversations with this agent about his home for rent, in which he owns. I was very concerned that it was clean, updated, good neighborhood since I am not from Florida, and the homes around it also had curb appeal. The photos placed on Zillow of the exterior of the home and the pool area, looked nothing like the house when we arrived to move in. We had driven all the way from Missouri to occupy the house for 7 months. When we saw the condition of the house and the houses on each side of the home had been abandoned and the weeds had grown over 6 feet tall and the pool on the one home was hardly even visible from all the vegetation growth, we refused to even go inside the house. The pool, that was told to me only 4 days earlier via text, was cleaned, shocked and ready to go for me, was filthy disgusting dirty. There was brown and black slime stains on everything in the pool, even the ladder. There were wires hanging off the back of the house, the house was not even the same color as shown on the Zillow listing, the landscape was nothing like the photos shown on Zillow all the way down to the large palm tree in the front yard in the Zillow pics, was no longer there. We asked the agent to please refund the $3200 we had paid him and let us out of the lease. He advised us that he would not refund us a dime and would allow us out of the lease. I felt forced to sign a document for him, that agreed to allow him to keep our money and allow us out of the lease or he would hold me to the lease. He then contacted me after we left and I had told him I would review him on every site I could, and offered me a $675 refund. I was offended but accepted it so I could recoup some of my money. His notary never even checked our ID's on the agreement I signed for him and they had never met us since we did all the transaction via the internet. One other thing he did, was asked us to pay him via PayPal but to check the friends and family box so that he did not have to pay a fee to collect the $3200 plus an additional $200 for the application fee for 2 people. Once you check that box, you forfeit your buyer protection from PayPal. I thought that was very convenient that he asked us to do that and we no longer had the option of getting PayPal involved. The agent also advised me that if I could find him a renter he would then refund me the difference. I sent him 4 people, he declined them all because he now decided he no longer wanted to do a 7 month lease. He only wanted a year lease and none of them were willing to do that. I would recommend steering clear of this agent and his broker and/or any agency he hangs his license in. We have also filed an ethics complaint with the state of Florida board on this issue and I am working on a YouTube video about this issue and this agent, in hopes that he NEVER gets to do this to anyone else ever again. I feel like I was robbed of over $2500. I have screenshots of his actual Zillow listing and photos and videos I took onsite the day we arrived to show the condition of the house and the neighborhood in which he raved about. I only wish that Zillow had a way for me to attach those photos to that review so everyone could see for themselves. I have attached photos of the house as it was listed, the house as we found it and one of the houses on the side of it. According to the agent, the houses on each side were nice as well to the best of his knowledge!
