Following a recommendation from a dear friend, I booked an early bird lunch for two today.
Reception staff were kind and affable making it feel ok to ask for a dog friendly table.
We chose the Hoste fish pie which was very tasty and was not bulked out with potatoes (as is so often the case)
We had hoped to choose a pudding and coffee too, but the service was so chaotic that we gave up and left early.
We were then presented with a bill that was in accurate and when challenged was reduced....but on later inspection , not reduced accurately.
Perhaps this is a case of an organisation resting on its past glory and reputation.
Sadly, despite the quality of the food, I will not be returning.
