My father, unfortunately was a frequent visitor to GRMC. He often referred to it as "the spa". He suffered from a myriad of illnesses, so he knew many staff from ICU, Pulmonary, surgical and certainly the great nurses and aides.

I spent the last two days and nights with my father at GRMC. He had multiple visits from nurses who came to say "hi" though they were not assigned to him. The aides took loving care of him, and even me when I didn't know how to feel. They even brought in cart of coffee and breakfast bars for the long hours towards the end. The "free" coffee down in the cafeteria saved me. It seems like a little thing, but that kind of empathy for families is NOT often found anywhere, especially in a healthcare facility.

I said goodbye to my dad, December 17th, in the early, early morning. I am grateful that he was cared for by such an amazing staff and facility. Thank you all or being a part of my dads life. They made an often scary time become an easier passage through this life, for him and me.

My sincerest thanks to a great TEAM.
