When you're spending a considerable amount of money at a place like Selfridges, you expect a certain level of customer service which during the past 2 years or so, I felt I have not been getting.

The customer service reps appear as if they're not bothered most of them. At the Saint Laurent area, I was waiting for ages to be served, expecting someone to approach me and ask if I wanted help. Instead, the workers that were free were busy speaking to each other completely ignoring me even though I was staring right at them. I had to call them several times before one fella by the name of David eventually came. I reluctantly baught a very expensive bag and wallet - the products looked great but the service put me off' spending that kind of money there. The nicest staff I found were at the children's sections - clothing and toys.

Dining at the restaurant on the very top floor, food was mediocre. The man serving me at the till was incredibly rude. No eye contact, and literally no communication at all! The total of my purchase appeared on the screen - he couldn't even be bothered to open his mouth and say how much I needed to pay!

It's really disappointing because I've been shopping at selfridges for 20 years and I have noticed the service decline. Not all staff are terrible. There are some real gems but unfortunately I felt they were few.
