LTS Homes is a low-level company. They installed an inexpensive smoke alarm system during construction. Every night you look up in the dark and see the green and red lights blinking on these devices. It s hard to sleep when you see these alien blinkers above your head. The alarms can sound in the middle of the night unexpectedly. LTS used low qual batteries, and they need 2 kinds of batteries. A few months after home purchase, the smoke detectors signaled that they needed new batteries. How? They are all connected via inside home wiring and they all go off with a sharp prolonged alarm, and voice commands bark from the detectors. Inevitably, this has happened in the middle of the night. Somehow it was at 2 or 3 AM. This occurred several times when they needed new batteries. But, there is no way to know which batteries are dying. So you have to change all of the batteries. Get up on a tall ladder to reach them, like in the garage. If you make a mistake you are doomed. If the batteries are installed upside down (direction is not marked well or at all on the smoke detector, or in tiny writing) it s such a cheap system that it shorts the detector! Then the next day it starts acting erratically and barking voice commands. I had to disconnect one unit because of it, and now I don t even know if the others will work. I just want it to stop!
