Review of Sheraton on the Park

My partner and I stayed here for my birthday last ...

My partner and I stayed here for my birthday last Friday and Saturday night. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, the hotel was beautiful, and we had a nice time. However when it came time to pay, we were given the amount on top of the hefty holding fee that we paid when we arrived, and left slightly confused, but not concerned. We then saw a $406 charge pending in my partner's account. I called the next day for a receipt (which was handled very rudely as I "was not the name on the booking") and no where on the receipt was the $406 charge mentioned. My partner called two more times over the next two days, where be was told the bank was holding the money, and a letter would be sent to have the money released back to us. Fast forward to today, finally fed up having waited 8 days since this payment was taken, we contacted the hotel again to be told it was a bank issue, then contacted the bank to be told they had received nothing from the hotel and it was definitely the hotel still holding our money. We are now still out $400 (a significant amount that we did not budget for) have been lied to by the hotel, and are still no closer to finding out when we will be getting our money back. This whole scenario is absolutely disgusting. We will never be back and are questioning if we will ever see our money again. I didn't want to take this public but after contacting the hotel 4 times to be lied to we are beyond angry at this point.
