If you decide to use this company, make sure you get a quote IN WRITING.

I'm selling my condo and need some work done on the heating and cooling system per buyer's inspection. Initially I got a quote of 399 to do air duct and dryer vent cleaning and scheduled an appointment for it. But my listing agent called on the day of appointment and asked me to do the furnace and AC service, and dryer vent cleaning instead. So I asked the technician if he could do that. He said yes and said the price would change - the service would be about 150 each and dryer vent cleaning would be about 75. That seemed reasonable to me and we went on to work.

The technician was nice and friendly. He did a good job.

BUT, the bill turned out to be 149 + 119 for furnace and AC service and 179 for the dryer vent cleaning! Seriously? 179 for dryer vent cleaning? Duct-a-clean can clean air duct in my whole condo and dryer vent for 230.

I was shocked. The technician seemed shocked too. He said 179 was the price if he was only doing dryer vent cleaning. He also said if he was already at location doing other work and did dryer vent cleaning as an add-on work, the bill shouldn't be that much. He offered to call his service manager to adjust the bill. The manager was in a meeting so we decided that he let the manager know the problem and the service manager would call me with adjusted bill and collect payment. Well, the manager never called. I called Pyramid only to get the answer that the technician's words were not a real "quote". Dryer vent cleaning cost 179 and that's it.

Yeah, textbook price gouging. I paid outrages charge to clean my dryer vent. And Pyramid lost my business forever.

It's such a shame because the technician was really friendly and helpful. When he left, I was ready to buy a 3-year maintenance plan for my new house. But no, I would never do business with Pyramid again.
