This review applies to the Kremen School of Education's Teaching Credential Program at Fresno State. If I could give this program zero stars I would, as it is a pointless teacher prep program that not only teaches you nothing about how to be a teacher, but there is no accountability of staff or the "mentor teacher" you are assigned to if you have to do student-teaching. I wasted a whole semester doing 'Final Student-Teaching' and had to work with a teacher I was assigned to by the program who over-worked me so much that I didn't have barely enough time to complete my project to get my credential to teach. She was very rude to me, made me literally do her entire job for her, and I ate lunch on rare occasions because she made me work on grading during some lunch periods too. As I am writing this, I completed that semester of student-teaching and my project, but because I didn't accumulate enough "hours" of actual teaching in the classroom because you can't count your 'lunch' recesses, they would not award me a credential. The staff who run the program had no clear vision for me and didn't work with me to offer a solution for adding-in more hours and said that the hours all have to be done in the same semester. If you are looking to earn a Teaching Credential, then PLEASE CONSIDER GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Upon talking to some of my friends who are teachers, they said this program used to be good, but since they have changed some staff who run the program this has had a negative impact in this programs effectiveness.
