The PICU deserves 10 stars, they did their job making sure my son got the right amount of attention from getting his medication on time, made sure he got his formula since he has an NG tube for now, and checked on him regularly. Now it s a way different story on C5B unit.. if we weren t here my son wouldn t ever be checked on night shift, my son was crying from 11:45p-6a, we did everything we could, so I was asking what might be doing it and with an uneducated response to make it seem like she had to go out of her way to come in the room she said I don t know, so we waited until 330a for her to come in after the aide kept saying I ll get your nurse. My son was without any formula in his feeding bag for a while so again the aide kept saying she will tell the nurse, it took another hour, another nurse came in to turn the machine off and left without speaking, the nurse finally came in after I had opened the door, so she walks in really fast get a 2 oz bottle of formula pours it in there, take everything off and leaves, no communication, I m sorry if your child has to deal with what I m currently going through. If we weren t here my son would lay in his own mess, starving, and crying. They don t care about you on this unit. I m not sure why they would want to do this profession if they don t want to do what the job calls for, to care. No one forced you to go to school to become a nurse. Oh and on top of that she came in to turn his o2, pulse, and resp monitor off so it doesn t beep at the nurses station. Also at one point she came in the room telling us were on the verge of sending a patient to the PICU so his cough right now is the least of our concern
