When we checked in, there was a bit of a line, but it looked like it was possible to do it by self-service and we opted for this option. The automated check in was fast and we got room 1032. The hotel has been through renovation in the last few years and the lobby is modern with a lobby bar, seats and a fun display around the elevators. The hotel is quite big (800 rooms) and it was a bit of a walk from the lift to the room.

When entering the room, it appeared a bit dim due to the lighting but it was modern and the layout was quite traditional. Wooden floors, light walls and a room that was dominated by the bed. The room is not that big but with a good layout, it was big enough. Apart from the bed there was a comfortable chair with a stool, a thin wardrobe that included an iron and ironing board (excellent) and a furniture under the big TV that included a small fridge with contents (a coke was 59 NOK/7 USD, beer 89 NOK/10 USD and even a small champagne for 499 NOK/56 USD). It is great that they have a fridge with some drinks, but the prices are high. A small bottle of red wine was 299 NOK/34 USD. There was also a small safe in this furniture and that is always a great feature. In addition to this there was also a Nespresso machine with 4 coffee capsules but there was no water boiler as far as I can remember.

Bathroom was also modern with grey tiles with a shower corner. There were not many amenities apart from shower gel and shampoo from dispensers which is a pretty standard feature these days. The shower corner had just one glass wall so there was a bit of splashing on the floor.

Breakfast was served at the restaurant on the second floor and the place was huge. I was impressed by the buffet as it features fresh bread, eggs, bacon, fruits, cereals and oats with good choice of seed toppings etc.

Location of the hotel is great! It only takes a couple of minutes to walk to Oslo central station and Karl Johan (main street of Oslo). It is also a minute to Jernbanetorget tram station so getting around is very easy! My conclusion is that this is almost as good as it gets for Norwegian hotels and I will probably stay here again on coming trips to Oslo.
