I love this place. Been coming here for birthdays and special occasions since I was a kid. It has changed hands since then but still maintains it's beautiful, warm, special occasion atmosphere. Today we came for my birthday breakfast. The food was delicious but I had to chuckle when they brought our tea and coffee in beer mugs and a minute maid orange juice in a bottle for my boys. That surprised me. Every self-respecting breakfast joint in town that I know of serves fresh squeezed orange juice. The food was delicious: authentic and yet modern huevos rancheros. Yummy pesto and ancho chile sauce on the side of my zucchini/potato latkes and the best oatmeal ever according to my son. The waiter was very attentive and even endearing when he asked me to explain what I meant by a "fried egg". I think he pegged me for the particular eater that I am after I asked if they had any gluten free bread.
All in all I still love the place though they could brush up on a few of the finer points of brunchdome.
