Words that describe my most recent experience at HMH: shameful, ridiculous, insulting and deplorable.

I had a referral from Care First for symptoms of sudden onset hypertension--having never had high blood pressure in my life-- and with dizziness, nausea, and severe abdominal pains. My referral was to the emergency department of the hospital to get further testing which should've included an EKG as recommended by the nurse practitioner at Care First. Yet, after giving blood and urine I was shoved off into the waiting room for over five hours-- I ask you, HMH, what kind of emergency needs to wait for over FIVE godforsaken hours?! I arrived at approximately noon today, having not eaten since 9am and got squeamish when they took my blood, yet was told I couldn't eat or drink a thing until I was examined. I waited and waited and waited, then after three hours they retook my vitals-- and claimed I'd only been there for two hours, but trust me I was keeping watch of the time. I waited a total of five hours for what was an emergency situation for which I had a referral from THEIR so-called "Urgent" Care Center on Ring Road.

Bottom line: I left the hospital having received absolutely NO medical care in the five hours I was in wait and having NO clue what was wrong with me in the first place. I left irritated and hungry, telling the receptionist that the facility had better NOT charge me a red cent for their LACK of care because I AM NOT PAYING FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE. Not that they didn't already suck $100 out of my wallet from my visit to Care First, which was fruitless.

TLDR: if you're having an emergency, dying or having a baby, drive all the way to Louisville or Taylor County because you'll get there, be tended to, and on your commute back home WAY before you'll so much as get any services from HMH. They'll let you die in the waiting room, they don't care-- those people are there for one thing: a paycheck. They get paid by the hour, not per patient. Their motto plastered on the wall claiming that they're "God's servants" is nothing but a cruel, sick joke. It's beyond insulting. TAKE IT DOWN.

Never again, HMH, NEVER AGAIN-- if I'm gonna die I'd rather keel over in my own home than in your hellhole of a waiting room. Good luck paying for your expensive remodel-- which MY stepdad wasted over two years of backbreaking labor to build-- when you're so negligent that you can't keep patients.
