Meaghan Thompson Review of Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, Kan...

This hotel was our thing for years. It's where we came on family ski trips and we always booked a large suite.
This was our first stay since the renovations and while they are beautifully done, the rest of our stay was just not great. We stayed a Sun-Tuesday during ski season (March) and our only options for food were the gross pub, the Blacktail lounge and room service. Woody's pub was no good, so we were stuck with the tasty but extremely limited menu of the lounge or room service. We had breakfast in our rooms, but didn't want to spend the whole trip in our room. Also, room service was ok, but very very slow. Both times it was over an hour and since we had the Bed and Breakfast package, the 20% off they gave us for the wait had no effect on us. (breakfast was included in our stay).
On the 2nd night we drove 45 minutes into town to find different food, unable to stand another meal at that lounge. What limited food the lounge had was good, but we were out of options and always felt rushed out of there. It was also definitely understaffed.
The spa was lovely but they shouldn't be charging full price for a half finished spa. Two of the finished features were also closed.
Our room had no working heat or a/c, instead the hotel and rooms were filled with space heaters. This felt cheap, smelled bad and honestly made us worry about our safety in a hotel with hundreds of space heaters.
Unfortunately, we left feeling that our favourite getaway in the mountains is a thing of the past.
I will say the bellmen/doormen were fantastic and so friendly.
