Black Sea is a continental sea, surrounded by the peninsula (Turkey) of southeast Europe, Caucasus and Anatolia. In the dark ocean it is connected through the Mediterranean and Aegean seas and through various straits. It is notable that the name of Bosporus' stagnant Maramra Sagar is remarkable.

Black sea is a reservoir of 436,400 sq. Km, with a maximum depth of 2212 meters. The volume of water contained in it is approximately 5,47,000 cubic kilometers. Black sea is located in the west of Bulgaria, Romania, Russia and Ukraine in the northeast, and Turkey in the south. Earlier there are mountain ranges of Georgia and Caucasus, which separates it from the Caspian Sea. The highest length of east to west is about 1175 km.
