We are 2 days in to our vacation here, so far so good! The property is beautiful, the vibe is completely and totally relaxed. Everyone Including the staff is doing a great job with social distancing and wearing masks. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I like the fact they employ college kids, they are all good kids BUT you can t have kids wait tables with little to no experience. The college kid who waited on us tonight was very nice but it was clear he was an amateur and fumbled his way through the whole dinner, also dropped a knife in my wife s lap. We laughed it off, no big deal it was an accident. If you re going to charge top tier prices then you should bring in a professional wait staff. The wait staff needs more training and more attention to detail is needed. So far, I had 3 meals here and the service was average at best. Standard rooms are very basic And cumbersome for 2 people. Bathrooms are extremely small, again given price point they fell way short. Great amenities, great location, great vibe, good food but the attention to detail is lacking for a 4.5-5 star rating
Edit : trip completed - wife gives it 3.5 stars, I give it it 3.37 stars. I really want to like this place but it s extremely clear the people who work here are way to young and not formally trained in hospitality. The theme is overcharge and underdeliver for just about everything. Ordered a burger rare, it came extremely well done. Breakfast was cold and took 50+ minutes - also found a hair in wife's omelette (they took off Bill) . Ordered shrimp (An upcharge) with my clam bake dinner, the shrimp were what you would see at a buffet(very low quality). Turn down service consistently came at 5pm, really? I can go on and on, but these are all the little things which take away from the experience If I m paying top $ I want top dollar experience , unfortunately they fall consistently short in every area. Checkout was a disaster, poor communication right down to checkout. I booked via phone with their sales team and was given Leaders Club free for a year. There sales team are also specifically promoting a 48$ Credit for breakfast with this membership. This is bait and switch as no one at front desk understands how this is being promoted. So, your on the hook to pay for all your breakfast, beware regardless of what sales staff tells you. Secondly , was charged for 3 cabanas on Bill , funny - we never even booked one cabana. They removed it from bill . Lastly , I was supposed to get a 200$ resort credit, not 100$. The righteous woman at front desk says she gave Me the 200$ credit - the reality is , she gave us 100$, I got tired of arguing so conceded on this. My rating went from a 4 star the first 2 days to a 3. Will I be back? Certainly not rushing bank anytime soon ....they need to get their act together. Lack of cohesiveness on all fronts, props to the valet people, they are at top of their game!!!!
PS. Note to management , you need to hire a person who does nothing but observe to take care of all the small (or Significant) things... especially in dining areas. This would be $ well spent.
