Review of La Source Hotel

Apart from the design of the entrance to the hotel...

Apart from the design of the entrance to the hotel, everything else leaves something to be desired for a 4 star.
We wanted to stay there for dinner and New Years Eve. We would have done better to stay in Paris.

Course of the dinner:
Dinner scheduled from 7 p.m. At the reception the same day and on the phone several days before, we are informed that we can have dinner at the time of our choice from 7 p.m.

We decide to go to dinner around 9:30 p.m.
The dinner consisted of 5 courses including a starter.
At the table, a couple informs us that dinner started around 7:30 p.m. and that for 2 hours, only one dish was served.
We sit down at the table. We are quickly informed that the chef has gone to the preparation of the 2nd course and that there is no more entry (foie gras, etc.)

How is it that having booked a night with New Year's Eve dinner, we were not kept the starter? We have never seen this in a 4 star hotel.

The most astonishing is that we are sent a server several times. This one has been instructed to promise us that he will do what is necessary so that we still have an entry (not the planned entry but something else ... not the leftovers I hope) Which is serious is that this young, not very experienced waiter believed his lies.
These were unfounded promises because no entry was brought back.
Obviously no explanation and even less excuses.

Yet another episode of this dinner. The dinner was billed around 100 euros per person (night package + dinner for two at 360 euros)
Shortly after our installation at the table, this same server let me know that we have the possibility of tasting unlimited different wines (indicated on the menu, and for information of French wine, date of manufacture: 2016 at the earliest) Option: 39 euros per person.
We let ourselves be tempted because on the cardboard it looked nice. Throughout dinner, we were served a total of two drinks each. Again no explanation and even less excuses.

In the end, we had dinner in less than 2 hours and finished around 11:30 p.m.
In summary, dishes well below what you would expect from a four-star restaurant, lack of flavor, lack of attention due to absent staff.
Not really satisfied with this dinner, I decided to go see the manager of the restaurant to understand why we had no entry and only two glasses of wine.
I want to clarify again that it was New Years Eve, December 31, 2018 in the evening, and that we were obviously on a festive tone.
At the bar, the manager of the hotel, Ms. Sophie Coumont, decides to listen to my request. Without having had time to finish, she starts berating me for the fact that we had to be on time at the table and that normally we should not have served us dinner.
I try to explain to him that the hotel staff had informed me, several days before, that we could go to dinner from 7:30 pm. She contradicts what her own hotel staff have said. Unbelievable !
She informs me that it is specified on a sheet in the room that dinner was scheduled for 7:30 pm sharp. I still have the sheet with me and it is clearly stated at 7 p.m.
Still haughty and rude, she asks me to cut the conversation and goes behind the bar. I call her back because I am not in the habit of being cut off. She then returns to the charge, letting me know that if I continue the conversation she will call the authorities to kick me out of the hotel.

Finally, I strongly advise against this hotel, unless maybe you are a racing driver because the entrance to the hotel is really glued to the entrance to the racing circuit. In the others, go your way and enjoy the real good hospitality of Belgium.
