It really depends which doctor you're seeing. In general, specialists and maternity are fine. Walk-in ER clinic is horrible. Do NOT go! You have better chance of finding a cure and being treated with respect elsewhere.

Friday morning 5.30am I came in with high fever, trembling, chills irregular breathing and numbness in hands and legs. Remember this premise for what I'm about to report: I was the only patient that morning.

The nurse that took my vitals was indifferent to my plight. I was barely able to walk without feeling faint. No wheel chair was offered. She even treated me stupid. I am pretty knowledgeable on drugs so I offered information on what I've been on past week. She didn't seem to think it mattered.

Next, came a 20 minutes wait for the doctor. And there wasn't even anyone inside the doctor's office. Even when there wasn't anyone else in the waiting area, the nurse yelled out my name across the lobby. Like, hello?! What is wrong with you people? I am the only one present, like is there anyone else that's gonna response? Don't you have the courtesy to walkover and escort a patient to the doctor's office? I could barely walk straight, could use some assistance.

I explained my conditions, Doctor did some check up. She agreed I did look dehydrated. She was reluctant to do blood test, "oh, we could do a blood test but it'd be too early to tell" with a lazy smug look on her face. I was put into observation at the ER and given 1000mg of paracetamol. I was burning up above 39 degrees.

Outside. The nurses made noisy small talks and laughed a lot. Noisy! I couldn't really get a proper rest. They came in twice check on my temperature, but I was still burning up and I thought I was dehydrated? I didn't get any more fluid than the small cup I took paracetamol with.

I got discharged when my temperature dropped to 38 degrees. The medical officer simply said "maybe viral infection of some sort" but said no further and offered no advice to follow-up. I was given paracetamol and codeine.

This is not a high end medical establishment. If it were sure didn't feel like one. The standard is no different than elsewhere. I'm sure you guys saved lives, but for the relative price, it is certainly not worth it. Attitude matters. Passion matters!

I would summarize my conclusion of PCMC ER nurses that morning in these following words:

Uninitiated, uncaring, disinterested, just-working-to-get-by kinda attitude. Presumptuous. Indifferent. Unimaginative. Disrespectful.

I'm sure there are some good points too - but nothing above and beyond the minimal level of duty I'm sure - servanthood and stewardship are qualities they lack.

I visited medical facilities in Bangkok in the past. Their care, procedures and ambiance at similar price - now that's something to tell the world about - They are so advance in both technology and soft skills. And oh, rather than yelling my name across the lobby? Thais would approach me and escort me to the clinic. What's so great about that Malaysian hospitality again?

This used to be a good medical center. Not anymore. The quality dropped compared to 2 years ago. Somebody invested a lot of money to make PCMC world class. I just hope these people realized how low they are on the scale of things. Had they not hired people based on racial merits, they'd probably be decent today. People who finds it hard to speak English just shouldn't be customer facing, period.

Today I went to another hospital. They took blood and urine samples. The doctor looked at the results and admitted she doesn't know what it is, but she said to come back tomorrow and meet a specialist. At least someone is caring enough to offer follow-up.

If you're looking to be cured and treated with respect, and if you're not seeing a specialist, avoid PCMC. Save your cash. Go elsewhere. You're welcomed.
