The good: The food was really quite good. I had the BBQ brisket special with rosemary potatoes and my husband had the lamb meatball flat bread. Cocktails were yummy. Service was pleasant.
The not so good: The atmosphere was much more casual than expected and advertised. I realized after the fact this was because all photos of the restaurant show white linens on the table, but when we went, all the tables were bare and it felt more like a casual BBQ joint than a jazz bar. It didn't help that we were surrounded by families with screaming babies, young children, and tourists in shorts. There's inherently nothing wrong with that, but definitely not the vibe you expect when you choose a jazz club restaurant for your anniversary dinner.
The food saved the experience, but then we headed over to Russell Tavern for an after dinner cocktail and the romantic vibe we were after.
